Frequently Asked Questions
1). How many times a day should I have my petsitter come?
It's best to have a minimum of two visits per day for dogs. One visit per day for cats is usually sufficient. Other pets, such as birds, fish, and other small animals will vary.
2). How long does each visit last? This will vary with you and I but normally visits last anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes.
3). Do I pay before or after your service?
I do require payment in advance either at initial consultation or the first day of service. For subsequent reservations, payment must be received in advance. Cash/Check/Venmo or PayPal accepted.
4). What days are you available to work? I am available 7 days a week upon availability.
5). Will you keep my key? I will offer to keep a copy of your key at the time of service for future visits. I keep my clients keys in a locked secure location when not in use.
6). Do you have references? Yes I do, just ask. =)
7). Just what will you do at my house? Generally, the visits will consist of providing fresh food and water, play time, outdoor time, and special loving attention for your pet. Other services may be provided such as taking trash out, rotating lights, bringing mail in, etc.
8). Should I call when I leave or when I get back from a vacation? Absolutely! Give me a call right before you leave to confirm that you are leaving as planned. Another call is in order when you return home to let me know your pets are safely in your care once more. =)
9).What do I need to do to start pet sitting service? First, e-mail me under "Contact information" set up a service consultation. We'll talk about your pet's special needs and develop a plan for caring for your pets. When you leave on your trip, just leave your pet's food, snacks, medications, bedding, toys, or other special items and I'll do the rest.
10). If necessary, will you take my pet to your location? Yes, see my services and fees page.
11). How much notice do you need to schedule a visit? I can try and accommodate last minute arrangements if I am available.
12).What if I run out of food while I am away? I can purchase the same food your pet eats and charge you on your return.
13). What if there is an emergency in my home unrelated to my pet? I will do everything possible to resolve the situation without disrupting your trip. I will contact your emergency contact for instruction and, if necessary, I will contact you.
14).Will you provide updates on how my pet is doing while I am away? Per your request, I can maintain a daily report of the happenings in your home while you are away. I will also let you know if there was any strange behavior with your pets or their eating habits. If you'd like pictures and updates, I can text or e-mail you.
15).Do you keep client information/alarm codes/key information confidential? YES, I do not share client information with anyone.
16). Would you stay overnight? Yes, I can.
